ADDYson Vignola
Plant Engineer for Covanta in Westbury, NY
My name is Addyson Vignola and I am the Plant Engineer for Covanta in Westbury, NY. I started with Covanta in April 2017. My background is in Engineering, where I earned my Bachelor of Engineering ABET accredited degree from SUNY Maritime College in Throggs Neck, NY. I also received my United States Coast Guard 3rd Assistant Engineer License in Unlimited Horsepower Steam, Motors and Gas Turbines. I began working for Con Edison, a utility for New York City while I was still taking classes in college and shortly after graduation I was hired full time as an Operating Mechanic. This position is in charge of maintaining and operating 5 package boilers, balance of plant equipment, water treatment systems and the control room operating system. After a few years, I left Con Edison and became the
Plant Engineer for Covanta, where I am in charge of boiler reliability and outage planning, the lead engineer for boiler inspections, and provide engineering for asset improvement project development for the Hempstead Facility.

Dr. Andrea Ward
Professor and Biology Department Chair at Adelphi University
Dr. Ward is a Professor and Chair of the Department of Biology at Adelphi University. Her research examines the interactions between development, morphology, and locomotion in studying the evolution of body shape in vertebrates. Her subjects of interest are Vertebrate Anatomy, Developmental Biology and Evolution. She received the ODK Academic Advisor Award in 2015. She received a PhD at the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2005, and a BS at Wake Forest University in 2000.
